Angela may
Wadsworth City Council, Ward 4
Hi, I’m Angela May, people call me Gie. My pronouns are they/them, and I’m running to be your representative for Ward 4, Wadsworth City Council.|
Since 2019, I’ve proudly called Wadsworth home, where I’ve put down roots and committed myself to making a meaningful impact. But Wadsworth did not feel like home to me, until I was able to make connections and build a community. Living in a town where Nazis showed up to protest a community event and the federal government has declared my existence invalid, it can feel scary for those of us that live outside of the traditional. I plan to be a part of making others feel welcome and seen in Wadsworth and comfortable that they can make this community their home.
My experience at the locally owned company I have worked for for over a decade leans heavily on investigating and resolving concerns, and gives me a solid background in determining root causes and problem-solving so I can make a meaningful impact for the city to improve our lives.
I volunteer with Feeding Medina County, have parked cars for Balloons Over Wadsworth, participated in donation drives for Marian’s Closet and other fundraising events. I am a member of The Medina Diversity project and spent years volunteering with the Medina County Parks, always seeking to contribute to the community I love.
I’m passionate about listening to residents’ concerns and being a voice for everyone, especially long-term renters and local businesses. Wadsworth is a place where people care for one another, and as your city councilperson, I will work to ensure our community remains strong, welcoming, and vibrant.
I’m Angela “Gie” May, and I need your support to become the next Ward 4 City Councilperson, whether that is volunteering, donations or your vote. I am dedicated to creating a united community, because a strong community begins with a voice for all.
